Orccha site (Rural)

The site is a connecting bridge between a settlement and green area over river Betwa.
The bridge, though meant for pedestrians or light vehicles only,
is one of the busiest points in Orchha.

The site is dominated by the rocks present, which is a major attraction
for people of Orchha. It eases access to the river which is used
for bathing and other purposes.

The location of the bridge is such that it gives a glimpse of Orchha as a settlement.
The historic view of the "Chattris" to the new construction of resorts
are all visible from this bridge. Also, the bridge is known as the
"sunset point" by the local people.

Rural Site

The site at Orchha is on the river Betwa. It is a little ahead of the main city and Orchha fort, flanked by the bridge on the north, the Betwa Retreat resort and other tourist lodges to the west and thick foliage on the east (Jahangir Mahal on the far east). The south direction is the river which leads to other smaller rural settlements (like Mador) around Orchha.
The view in all directions is serene yet exciting. The site is close to nature and the climate is highly influenced by the river and the forests on the east. The challenge will be to harness the power of the natural forces without disrupting their play.
The bridge on the north side connects the main city area to the other bank of the river housing various temples and Jahangir Mahal. It is an important landmark and while its very busy on festivals and some important days it makes for a quiet evening stroll on others. While the area is not found to be very safe, a site on the lake may be be secured fairly easily.

Urban Site

The site at Chanakyapuri lies on Rajdoot Marg in a well spaced out neighborhood facing a long park on one side and the boundry wall of a government school on the other. It is in close proximity with Malcha Marg (housing various dining joints and Carmel Convent School) and Nyaya Marg (housing Delhi School of Music and a Youth Hostel).
The location is central (close to Pancheel Marg, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Kautilya Marg) yet exclusive and away from major traffic flow. It has an ideal balance of green cover and built area. The few buildings next to it block only the south-western sun and any scale of construction on the site will not congest the neighborhood. The area is also clean and secure.
A market with most of the basic goods & services is within walking distance.
